Salam Christian Fellowship

The mission of Salam Christian Fellowship is to proclaim Jesus Christ crucified and risen from the dead, the Savior of the world, to Muslims from the Middle East and North Africa now living in the Chicagoland area. Pastor Hesham Shehab serves as the ministries missionary and worship leader. The fellowship is a partnering of Lutheran congregations from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod alongside other partnering congregations, organizations, and individuals.

Pastor Hesham grew up in Beirut surrounded by conflict between Christians and Muslims. He was recruited to the Muslim Brotherhood and fought against Christians in the area. He met Jesus Christ when introduced to the sermon on the mount. In particular, the words "love our enemies and pray for those who persecute you" called out to Hesham. He has been reaching out to Muslims from that region ever since.
